Marie Laurencin

Although she moved in the same avant-garde circles as Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Guillaume Apollinaire, and Gertrude Stein, Marie Laurencin rejected the bold geometry of Cubism in favor of an unmistakable visual language of ethereal color, graceful figures, and poetic ambiguity.
